 My True Experience of Life as an English Teacher Why I took the course. "Wanted to travel and create a foundation for future opportunities to travel while working".
What shocked you or caused you to see life from a different point of view due to your own immersion into a culture you were unfamiliar with? The culture shock of landing in Bangkok was loud and the smells were so intense I could barely eat. Once I immersed I was very appreciative of the peaceful Buddhism lifestyle. I deeply miss the smiles. What was the most valued treasure from this experience? What are some of the things about your experience that you will always remember? The parties on the beach with the other students; the motorbike rides all over Thailand; the diving experience after I completed school was incredible; the experience of teaching at the monastery was an incredible learning lesson. One piece of advice - Buy a cell phone rather than calling cards or sign up for Skype on-line. Thanks, Erin Tonga << back |
