Intercultural English Adventure Camps

WHAT IS IT?

A new, interesting and effective way to improve your English, learn more about other cultures and have a great time!

WHEN IS IT?

Our next camp will be held SUMMER , 2005. We hope to have additional camps at other times during 2005.

WHERE IS IT?

The TEFL International Camp, Suan Son Beach, Rayong, Thailand.  This is a very quiet area, away from most traditional tourist spots but only a short ferry ride to Samet Island.  Our facilities are dormitory style.

WHO WILL ATTEND?

30 university students each from the following countries:
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • Thailand
  • India
You will learn English with students from other Asian countries.  You will also learn about culture and do "adventure" activities such as Rock Climbing.  The teachers are all native English speakers.  There will be about 1 teacher for every 5 or 6 students.

Our English activities will not be traditional classes.  Instead you will be sharing and teaching cultural information using English.  Our teachers will be there to assist you.  As an example, Korean students may teach the rest of the group traditional Korean stories or games in English.  Japanese students may then teach the rest of the group how to cook a traditional Japanese meal again using English as the medium of instruction.

We will also be exploring Thai culture and seeing interesting sites in Thailand like a Thai boxing match, the Kings Buddhist Temple, islands, beaches and waterfalls, and a large weekend market in Bangkok.

Top 10 Reasons Why You Should Attend this Camp:
  1. You will be using English every day.
  2. The other people attending the camp will be from other countries--English will be the only common language.
  3. There will be many native English speaking teachers at the camp (one for every 5 or 6 students).  You will have more opportunities to interact with native speakers than if you did a home stay in an English-speaking country.
  4. You will challenge yourself with exciting activities like Rock Wall Climbing and Muay Thai (Thai Boxing).
  5. You will learn about other cultures in English!
  6. You will learn to talk about your own culture in English!
  7. You will learn interesting things like Thai cooking and meditation.
  8. The cost is very, very reasonable.
  9. The camp is in a great location.  it is between a beach and a forest.  It is not near busy tourist places.
  10. Thailand is a wonderful place.  it is called "The Land of Smiles".
