China, the world’s most populous country with 1.3 BILLION people, has less than 40 million Christians—less than 3 percent of their population. How can we make a difference? Being a Witness of Jesus Christ to the people of China may seem like an impossible task. It’s not. Our program is:
Your first step is our TEFL Course – With our four-week, 120 hours of training with 8 hours of observed teaching practice in Zhuhai, or Shanghai, China you become a qualified ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher. Graduating with an internationally recognized TEFL certificate is the first step in a larger journey of global English teaching. With your certificate you can work or volunteer literally all over the world!
But after graduation TEFL International will guarantee you a placement in a school in China. As a teacher, you will work at most 25 hours per week. The remainder of your time you will have free time to meet and fellowship new friends in China. You will have a great opportunity to come in contact with thousands of your students, all of whom will be anxious to befriend you and learn about your culture and your beliefs. Because you will be paid a living wage (6,000 to 12,000 RMB per month) your work can continue month after month, year after year. Please be aware that active missionary work is frowned upon in China and may even be considered illegal. This is an opportunity to fellowship and witness. Why Teach Abroad?
