Additional Comments: The 50 cm of snow which made the classroom and the planned accommodation inaccessible didn't interfere with the smooth running of the course or dampen spirits. The lead trainer found alternative locations and re-scheduled teaching practices and theory elements to take account of the temporary isolation. The trainees were eventually able to give more lessons than the course requires and one particularly appreciated the grammar component being moved to the start of the course, which she felt benefited her teaching later on. The trainees' reflections on the foreign language journal showed a depth of insight into the relationship of their own experiences to their teaching. Lesson plans and materials compilation projects showed that they were teeming with ideas. |
