Additional Comments: 4 of the trainees were very happy with the course, its contents and instructors. They felt they learned much and had high praise for Brad and Jenny. 2 of the trainees felt the course did not reach their expectations. They expected more advanced teacher training. Both of these trainees are experienced teachers. One of these trainees felt that being told to leave all they have learned at the door so they could buy into the TEFL method was not necessary or appropriate. This same trainee felt that the course should have provided a more open learning atmosphere where trainees could share their experiences. Considering this is a basic TEFL course, one wonders how well these two trainees understood what they were signing up for. The question is: Was it their own misunderstanding or how TEFL is advertised? From this moderator's point of view I would say these 2 trainees did not thoroughly research the course. All trainees felt the material was very informative and useful. They really appreciated the organized and efficient way the binder was set up for them. All trainees would have liked more opportunities to teach mixed ages and levels though they understand this is how it can be in the summer with schools closed. One trainee suggested not to have summer courses if the students and schools are so limited. All trainees felt the equipment was outdated and the computers too slow. |
