Peter Beech - Center Director
Peter has been working in EFL in Greece since graduating from Sussex University in the UK. After several years running his own school in Corinth, Peter moved into teacher training on completion of his Master’s in Teaching English. He also works part time as an Associate Lecturer with the UK Open University, tutoring on the TESOL module of the MA in Education. His academic interests are centered on the use of technology in education, and especially Computer Assisted Language Learning. He was the founding coordinator of the TESOL Greece CALL SIG, and has given numerous professional presentations in this area..

Sylvia Karastathi – Trainer
Sylvia Karastathi is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Department of English Language and Literature of the University of Bern, Switzerland. In 2010 she was awarded her doctoral degree from the English Faculty of the University of Cambridge, where she worked on a thesis which mapped the intersections between British women’s writing and the visual arts at the turn of the 21st century. She has previously earned an MA in Modern Literature and Culture from the University of York, UK and a BA in English from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her research interests include Digital Humanities with a particular focus on ICT resources and teaching tools, while she has gained experience in the field working with the Intermedia Research Group at the Centre for Research in the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities of the University of Cambridge. In 2011 she taught at New York College Athens a course on ‘ICT in Language Learning’ for the MA in Management of Language Learning. She has gained significant teaching experienced as a full-time EFL tutor in Greece and as an undergraduate tutor and dissertation supervisor in the UK.

Transportation upon Arrival
Depending on your choice of accommodations, the accommodation provider will usually meet you at the port or airport to take you to your accommodation.
Accommodations
Santorini offers all kinds of accommodations, including apartments, hotels and hostels. You can choose whether you prefer to be in the center of town or on the beach. Accommodation is much less expensive outside the summer season, so this might be a factor when you chose the date to take your course.
At the time of your enrollment, we will provide an extensive list of suitable accommodation, and will advise you on options for sharing with other trainees on the same course.

Resources
All you need to bring is a pen and a notebook for taking notes during class. A latop will also be very useful if you have one, but is not essential.
All course materials are supplied. In addition to our own specially-written training handbooks, we have an extensive library of EFL textbooks and other resources
Weather
Santorini enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate year-round, with daytime temperatures ranging from 55o F - 13o C in January – February to 90o F - 32o C in July – August.
