18. Additional Comments

The trainees were very happy with all aspects of their four week experience (‘I thoroughly enjoyed taking the course in Alexandria, the location is wonderful, the staff are friendly and helpful… the instructors were excellent.’). They were all very appreciative of the knowledge, resourcefulness and helpfulness of the trainers and enjoyed gaining knowledge, skills, awareness and enthusiasm from their experience of learning a new language, of observing real lessons, of planning lessons, of developing material and of teaching real students.

As usual the assignments made the trainees work hard and think hard, and they displayed qualities of open-mindedness, criticality, creativity, empathy, self-awareness and independence – all qualities needed by the good EFL teacher.
