Rural India Project
Volunteer IndiaSponsored by the TEFL International in West Bengal and Cultural Extremes, the Rural India Project trains and places native English speakers in small town schools in eastern India. This project allows you to put newly acquired teaching skills to work in small Indian communities that could not normally afford native English-speaking teachers.
The 21 week program includes:
- 4 week TEFL International TESOL course in Kolkata, India
- Hindi language lessons
- 4 month teaching placement
- Placement salary of 12,000 Indian Rupees per month
- Airport pick-up
- Weekend excursion
- Accommodation
- Internationally-recognized TEFL certificate
Dr. Bill Leon, and instructor in the Program Evaluation department atthe University of Washington, specializing in Education Program Evaluation, will develop a credit evaulation of your program for university credit.
Program Cost: US$1,990 minus paid salary of approximately $1,000 + TESOL Certificate worth $1490 + free housing makes this program basically FREE
*Fees are determined based on rounded figures compiled from averages. As we are willing and able to be flexible with different schedules, some placements will cost more or less for accommodation based on length of stay and area. Please contact us for more specific details!
