Italy attracts huge numbers of visitors from all over the world who are drawn by the country's unrivalled mix of history and culture. Whatever your reasons for choosing Italy as your destination, the magnificent city of Florence is truly a wonderful option at any time of the year. The capital of the Tuscany Region is almost bursting with historic buildings at every turn, with the cathedral known as The Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio Bridge just two of the most famous. The city is also home to arguably the most well known statue in the world, Michelangelo's David. However, it is not only wonderful buildings and museums that make the city so popular, the delicious italian cuisine, stunning scenery and warm nature of the local people are just a few more reasons to choose Florence for your TEFL certification course.
During your stay our experienced teacher trainers will ensure you have everything you need when you are in the classroom. They will also use their extensive local knowledge to ensure you make the most of your free time away from the course. Whatever your interests they can provide help and advice on everything from wine tours and bike hire, to job hunting and applications. Whether you plan to stay in the city or simply want to enjoy it while you complete your training, your TEFL course in Florence is certain to be an experience you will never forget.
The climate in Florence is Mediterranean with hot sunny days and little rain throughout the summer (June to September). Temperatures vary between 27-30ºC (81-86 ºF), but can reach as high as (35ºC / 95 ºF). The winter months are a lot cooler with more rain so we would advise that you pack suitable clothing during this time of year.
Our TEFL training center in beautiful Florence is perfectly situated in an authentic Italian neighborhood where you can mingle with the local residents and get a real feel for the Italian culture. In the vicinity of the school there are also plenty of places to hang-out and get to know your fellow trainees, and the relatively small size of the city means you are never far from any of its most famous attractions. During your stay you can utilize inexpensive and reliable public transport to enjoy all the wonderful museums and galleries, stunning architecture and breathtaking scenery that the Tuscany region is famous for.
Although our Florence center clearly enjoys a beautiful setting, it is not the only reason why so many people choose this location to complete their TEFL certification. Italy as a whole offers a large number of employment opportunities and is actually one of the most popular destinations for EFL teachers in Western Europe. Therefore, completing your training from within the country provides the perfect start to your new career as you will already have a good feel for the culture and language before you start your job search.Apply Now!
Our Florence TEFL training center can recommend several different options for accommodation during your stay, although you should note that the city is a very popular destination so we suggest you book as early as possible. The first option is to rent a private room in an apartment shared with other trainees on your course or with a local Italian resident. We can also arrange rental apartments for trainees who attend the course with friends, partners or family members. All of our apartment options are located close to shops and entertainment venues, as well as within easy reach of the training center.
Another popular choice with trainees who want to practice their Italian language skills or simply experience the local culture is to rent a room in the home of a local family. This home stay option has limited numbers so early notice is required. Finally, for those who prefer a bit more privacy and comfort we can highly recommend the Pensione Ferretti. This family run hotel has been providing rooms for our trainees for many years and is ideally situated close to the historical center of the city.Apply Now!

Our second option is a shared room in Florence (limited availability so book early to avoid disappointment). This tends to be a very popular choice, particularly if you are attending the course in Florence with a friend or partner. You will be provided with a single bed (or double if you are with your partner) in a shared room situated in the city.
Our third accommodation option is a home stay. Many of the students who attend our courses wish to experience staying with an Italian host family. This is a very popular option for those students who really want to fully experience the Italian lifestyle.
If you wish to have a more comfortable and independent stay and don’t wish to be bothered with daily chores such as making your bed or walking to a café or restaurant for breakfast or dinner, then you may choose to stay at the Pensione Ferretti, which is nicely situated right in the center of historical Florence.
