The tropical island of Phuket is widely known as one of the world's top tourist destinations. With some of the best beaches in the whole of Asia, a varied and exciting nightlife, fabulous cuisine and a warm hearted population, Phuket is just as popular with our TEFL course trainees. All year round our center attracts people from all parts of the world who come to enjoy the staggering variety of attractions that the island has to offer. Water based sports are particularly popular, with many options available regardless of experience including surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and sailing. There are also plenty of fun activities on land such as ATV adventures, bungee jumping, elephant rides and jungle treks. If you prefer a slower pace of life, the fascinating temples, paradise beaches and extensive shopping might be more to your liking.
The island's long list of pastimes means there really is something for everyone to enjoy in their days away from the classroom. Nights in Phuket are equally exciting as the entertainment scene is big, bold and incredibly varied. Patong Beach is well known for its party scene that continues round the clock, whilst a more laid-back experience can be found in some of the island's smaller beach resorts. Food is yet another major attraction for visitors as inexpensive and delicious Thai food is available wherever you find yourself. With so much to offer, our Phuket TEFL center is unsurprisingly one of our most popular destinations.
The climate of Phuket tends to be hot and humid in the day with cooler nights all year round. Temperatures average 80-90°F (27-32°C). The rainy season lasts from July to the beginning of November with persistent but brief showers mainly in the afternoons. For the majority of the day it is nearly always clear and sunny with fantastic sunsets.
Our TEFL training center on the island of Phuket is based close to the center of Phuket Town, within easy walking distance of many restaurants, bars and shops. It is also close to a fresh food market, a large park area, a modern shopping mall and a fantastic weekend market where you can barter for almost anything you can imagine. The school itself is modern, spacious and air-conditioned throughout. It is well equipped with all the things you will need to successfully complete your course including a library of teaching resources and classroom materials, computer access, a kitchenette area, a balcony with scenic views and Wi-Fi internet throughout the building.
The center of Phuket Town is a fascinating place with several historic streets featuring Sino-Portuguese architecture just waiting to be explored. There is also plenty of colorful nightlife spread across the island where you can relax away from the classroom and get to know your fellow classmates. Of course, wherever you find yourself on Phuket you are never far from some of the finest tropical beaches to be found anywhere in the world!Apply Now!

What travel documents will I need for thailand?Expand
It is advised that you enter Thailand on a 60 day Tourist Visa. Applications are cheap and turnaround times are fairly quick. You need to apply for a tourist visa with your nearest Thai embassy. Note that 15-day or 30-day stamps can only be extended by a maximum of seven days without leaving Thailand. Alternatively, some nationals can enter the Kingdom and obtain permission to stay in Thailand for 30 days (by air) or 15 days (over land) upon arrival.*
If you are from a country where visa procedures require a course invitation letter, one will be made available to you immediately after your intent to attend the course has been proven via your deposit payment.
* As this information is subject to change at any time, we advise you to contact your local consulate for current travel regulations prior to planning your trip. For more information on obtaining visas please check with your local Thai consulate or embassy.
What is the course schedule?Expand
From Monday to Friday, class begins at either 9:00 a.m. or 9:30 a.m. Lunch is taken between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. On days that you conduct your teaching practice you will plan your lesson between 1:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. and then deliver the lesson from either 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. or from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. These lessons are followed by immediate feedback from the instructors. Friday classes finish at 12:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. and the weekend is free.
What can I expect during teaching practice?Expand
Lessons are delivered to students aged 16 years and older. The vast majority of students are Thai but other nationalities do attend some classes. Class size varies from one-to-one lessons up to 16 students. Lessons are based upon real teaching resources found all over the world and you will have the chance to create your own materials as well. You will receive the aid of your course trainer throughout lesson planning and receive immediate feedback on your lesson after it’s been delivered. Practicum is assessed and a satisfactory assessment is required to earn your TEFL/TESOL certificate.
Who usually attends the course?Expand
We average 24 trainees on each course. The majority of trainees are British or American, while many others come from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, South Africa and the Philippines. Occasionally, we do get fluent non-native English speakers from Western Europe, Scandinavia, India, China, Thailand, etc. Trainees must be 18 years of age or older and the age range varies greatly depending on the course.
Is there a dress code?Expand
During trainees’ lessons, casual attire is allowed. Thailand can get rather hot so this means sandals, shorts, t-shirts and other loose-fitting clothing, cotton attire is best. During teaching practice, you will need to dress in trousers/skirts and closed-toe shoes. Men need collared shirts, while women need to wear conservative tops that cover their shoulders. Men also need to shave or keep facial hair neatly trimmed. No visible tattoos or facial piercings are allowed while teaching local students.
What should I bring for course studies?Expand
Please be sure to arrive on the first day of the course with a notebook and a pen. We also encourage you to bring a laptop as we have Wi-Fi at the training center. We will provide all course materials for you so there is no need to bring anything else for the course itself.
What documents do I need for finding employment after the course?Expand
If you plan to work in Thailand without returning home before you do so, you will need to bring your original degree (if you have one) and any other teaching qualifications that you might have. While not required by all schools, it is advisable to obtain a local criminal background check and sealed university transcripts as some schools will want to see one, or both of these documents.
Do I need a degree to teach in thailand?Expand
The short answer is no. Thailand’s Ministry of Education (MoE) does require foreign teachers to have degrees, but not all schools fall under the MoE’s jurisdiction. Primary and secondary schools, both public and private, will require degrees as your teacher’s license will need to be approved by the MoE. However, university and corporate work will not require a degree. Teaching in one of Thailand’s thousands of language schools also does not necessarily require a degree. So while some sources fail to truly explore this issue and say degrees are required, you can rest assured, they are not required for all teaching positions around the Kingdom.
