Blessed with a subtropical Mediterranean climate, stunning historical buildings, a vibrant nightlife and mouthwatering local cuisine, the city of Seville is a great choice of destination for completing a TEFL certification course. Located in the Andalusia region in the south of Spain, Seville has a long and varied history that is still evident today in the fascinating mix of architecture that can be seen throughout the city, particularly in the central Old Town district. Here you will find the city's magnificent cathedral which is the largest in the world, plus the stunning Alcazar royal palace that is renowned as one of the most beautiful buildings in the whole country. With so much to offer its visitors, it is no surprise that Seville is always popular with our TEFL trainees.
Although you will not be short of things to see and do within the city, you may also want to explore some of the other popular attractions in the area. Carmona is a beautiful small town within easy reach of the city where you will find a variety of bars, restaurants and boutiques all set amongst picturesque buildings and winding streets. Another great place to visit is the ancient Roman settlement of Italica, an exceptionally well preserved city where cobblestone streets, intricate mosaics and marble statues provide a fascinating glimpse into the region's past. Whether you choose Seville for its history and culture or simply the fine weather, you are sure to enjoy every minute of your TEFL certification course in southern Spain.
It is said that Seville has the best climate in Spain during the spring and autumn seasons, with mostly warm and sunny days. In summer it can get very hot with temperatures in June through to September reaching as high as 40ºC. Winter lasts from December until February with average temperatures of 16°C (61°F). Rainfall mostly occurs between October and March but is usually not heavy.
Our popular training center in the heart of beautiful Seville provides a perfect location for completing your TEFL certification course. During your studies you will have the benefit of all that a modern language institute has to offer including up-to-date equipment, extensive teaching resources and highly experienced teacher trainers. Throughout your stay you will have many opportunities to observe your trainers at work in the classroom, something that is invaluable once you begin planning and teaching your own lessons with our enthusiastic and motivated students.
You will be glad to know that the TEFL course in Seville is not all about study. Our trainers will use their extensive local knowledge to ensure you make the most of your free time. The city is home to no less than three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as a dazzling array of architecture, museums, art galleries, parks and gardens. Seville is also well known for its love of tapas, where a good night out involves roaming from bar to bar sampling delicious local specialties. Seville truly is a magical city, so why not join us and find out for yourself?
We offer this option to those who are unable to take the full-time four-week program due to work, family situations or other commitments. If an applicant decides that they need to take the part-time program they must commit to and attend week 1 of the four-week program as this is when the entire course introduction is given. Once week 1 is completed the trainee sits down with the director and goes over his or her availability and a tailor-made schedule is created that fits in with the trainee’s availability in conjunction with the ongoing schedule of the full-time courses. The part-time course usually takes around two months to complete depending on what the trainee can commit to.
A common part-time schedule cannot be set as it will depend on the trainee’s availability. They will need to do some mornings and evenings and each individual case will look different.
An example of this could be as follows:
A student is unavailable Monday and Tuesday evenings as well as Wednesday and Thursday mornings.
They would need to make the necessary arrangements to attend the first full week of the full-time program. The director would then draft up a schedule for the following two months where the trainee would attend all of the pre-requisite classes either in the morning or afternoons. They would also do all of their afternoon teaching practices on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Once all the requirements of a regular full-time course are successfully fulfilled, they would attend the graduation ceremony of the second full-time course and receive their certificate.
Regarding accommodation, trainees can stay in the lodgings provided during the part-time program, but the minimum stay is four weeks. The price is 16€/night in an individual room. The course balance is the same for full- and part-time students and both amounts are due no later than the first day of the program.Apply Now!
Our recommended accommodation option for your stay in Seville is an apartment shared with other trainees on your TEFL course. This option consists of a private bedroom in a fully furnished apartment located within a short distance of the training center. The living areas will be shared with up to four other trainees providing a great environment for making new friends and helping each other through your course studies. The shared areas such as the bathroom and kitchen are well equipped with all you need to be self sufficient during your stay including a fridge, stove and laundry facilities.
If you are not keen on cooking your own meals, the central location of the apartments means you are always within a short distance of various bars and restaurants. The city's excellent public transport system is also close by and ready to take you quickly and cheaply to anywhere you want to go within the city and even further afield. If you want to take advantage of this great accommodation option we recommend you book as early as possible as places are limited.Apply Now!
What are my payment options?Expand
Course deposits must be paid to our administrative center. Credit/debit card payments are the fastest and cheapest way to pay, but we also accept payments via Western Union, Pay Pal and bank transfer. While there are no deadlines for a deposit, courses can fill up quickly and your seat will only be reserved after the deposit has been paid.
Once you make your deposit, you will receive an email with an informational packet that provides detailed information about the course and Seville itself.
The balance of course fees are payable on the first day of class and can be made with a credit/debit card, cash, Pay Pal or bank transfer.
Late fees of 25€ per day may be applied if payment is not made. Please note that if you choose to pay by bank transfer you must add the transfer fees to the tuition balance. If payments have not been received by the end of class on Wednesday afternoon of the first week, you must receive permission from TEFL International Seville to remain on the course.
Course fees are all-inclusive so you won’t be asked to pay additional costs for course related materials or services. This also includes course moderation, accreditation fees and lifetime job assistance.
What are my accommodation options?Expand
Our accommodation for Seville is in three or four bedroom apartments. You will be allocated your own room (unless you want to share) with up to three other trainees as roommates. Prices start at 16 € per night for single rooms and 11 € per night for shared accommodation (per person). You can pay for your accommodation before the course starts or upon arrival.
The apartments are comfortable and simply furnished, with kitchens equipped with basic cooking utensils, stoves, refrigerators and washing machines. Blankets and sheets are provided, but bath towels are not. The apartments are also equipped with fans and electric heaters. Like most homes in southern Spain, during the winter it is often much colder inside the houses than outside.
Each location is well equipped with grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, bars and shops. They are also well connected with the city centre, with bike routes and several direct bus lines to the main city square. City buses are used by everyone in Seville as they are safe, affordable and easy to use.
Because these apartments are shared among other trainees, we cannot allow you to invite friends or family to stay in your room.

On average we have between six and twelve students enrolled on each program, most of whom are American or British. This number varies depending on the time of year.

During teaching practice, however, there are specific dress requirements that adhere to the local Spanish culture and basic ideas of professionalism. All trainees are expected to dress casually smart.
